NOTE: fides quaerens intellectum, my professional website where I post about my PhD work is found here.
Welcome to my personal website! I began this project around 2000 and it’s never quite the way I’d like it to be. But I make tweaks from time to time and continue to add content here and there.
What you’ll find, if you decide to stay and look around, is a line of development over the past several years:
- There’s not a lot of time these days for writing and updating. I’m currently working on a PhD in theology at The Divinity School of the University of Chicago. But for the sake of building up something to show to future employers, I’ve begun a professional site, fides quaerens intellectum (faith seeking understanding), that will have posts of papers, presentations, etc. That site is more geared toward my proposed area of study in queer theology and Eastern Orthodoxy.
- From 2006-2009 I attended seminary, where I wrote a lot of reflections and papers. Most of that work is also found on this site. It’s not all what I would have preferred to write about — after all assignments must be met. But I put it all in the Seminary Papers section for anyone who might be interested.
- Finally, when there’s a moment to play around, I sometimes sit and muse in my blog.
- My first writing began with research on homosexuality and scripture. It was done before I went to seminary and received a slew of new tools to deepen the level of interaction with the text. However, recognizing that these debates are still raging, especially in the evangelical world, I leave those texts here for anyone who might find them of value.
Enjoy!
